PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an alarm sound from wrongly starting to ring by erroneous key operation when a user does not intend by generating the alarm sound when an alarm sound generation code is key-operated in an alarm sound generating mode. SOLUTION: A portable telephone set 10 is provided with an alarm sound generating function. As the alarm sound generating function, the alarm sound generating mode validating a processing for generating an alarm sound and a normal mode canceling the alarm sound generating mode to invalidate a processing for generating the alarm sound. The alarm sound generating mode is constituted to be set by operation by a user and an alarm sound setting code is set to the mode to validate at the time of operating an 'F' key provided at a key 12, e.g. and then operating a '*' key. On the other hand, when the user similarly operates the alarm sound generation setting code at the time of the alarm sound generating mode, the alarm sound generating function is set to be released to shift to the normal mode. |
