A door-mounted motor 12 rotates gear 14 to reciprocate rack 16, connected by link 20 to the door frame, to pivot the door open and closed. Pivot 18 may disconnect under sufficient force on link 20. The rack may actuate limit switches, and the gear may be driven via a clutch which releases under rack load to allow free rack movement( Figures 4 and 6, not shown). Motor-driven rack 44 actuates lock 54. A housing containing the motor, rack and gear may pivoted by a solenoid from the door, against spring bias, to better align the door (Figures 7 and 8, not shown). |
