Procedure involves sawing block along parallel cutting planes into slices of specified thickness. Slice is sawn along parallel cutting planes perpendicular to large faces into billets (3). Billet is split into individual paving stones by applying cleaving cutters (C1,C2,C3,C4) against each of four previously sawn faces. Size of paving stones is reduced, if necessary, by second cleaving operation.
