Cement is mixed with cold water in a conventional mixer, then transferred to an intermediate storage vessel where it is kept at low temperature, and then transferred in batches to a processor where the material is dispersed whilst cooling. Dispersion is halted so that additives can be introduced to the material and then dispersion is restarted in order to homogenise the material, after which it is discharged from the preparation vessel. An Independent claim is also included for the process apparatus.
