The lock fitting comprises a case (8) which is to be fixed in a door mounting slot by means of fixing cradles (11,12). One of the cradles includes a jaw (17) which can translate relative to the case between encastring and fixing positions. The jaw is wedged when it is deployed in the fixing position. An Independent claim is included for a method of mounting the lock fitting.
