The regulation device uses a pair of 3-point regulators (61,62) for regulating the field currents for the lifting magnets (13,13s,13o) between which the armature (11) of the electromagnetic actuator (1) is displaced, with a measuring sensor (15) for detecting the actual armature position, coupled to a filter (2) providing a filtered armature stroke signal, armature velocity and armature acceleration, fed to a stroke regulator (3). The latter determines the required magnetic force of each lifting magnet, used for calculation of the corresponding field current via a magnetic force characteristic.
