PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for appropriately accumulating heat while preventing excessive energy consumption accumulated in a capacitor means such as a battery in an internal combustion engine with a heat accumulation device. SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine comprises a heat accumulating means 10, a heat feeding means 22 for feeding heating media accumulated in the heat accumulating means 10, the capacitor means 30 for accumulating energy, a heating means 32 for heating the heating media, and an energy consumption limit calculating means 22 for calculating the quantity of energy to be consumed by the heating means 32 based on the operation time of the internal combustion engine 1. The heating means 32 heats the heating media in the range of the quantity of consumable energy calculated by the energy consumption limit calculating means 22.
