SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING VEHICLE IN PARKING LOT

PURPOSE: A system and a method for monitoring a vehicle in a parking lot are provided to reduce capacity of a storage medium for storing motion picture data by using a few of camera and photographing selectively vehicles. CONSTITUTION: The first and the second acknowledge camera(310,350) are used for photographing vehicles and outputs image data. A parking management system(100) detects a license number of vehicle from the image data and searches a registered vehicle according to the detected license number. A location sensor(700) is used for sensing a location of the vehicle. A dome camera(400) is used for moving a focus to the detected location of the vehicle. An entrance sensor(330) and an exit sensor(370) are used for sensing pass of the vehicle. The location sensor(700) includes a pathway sensor portion(500) installed at a pathway of a parking lot and a parking sensor(600) installed in the parking lot. The pathway sensor portion(500) is formed by pathway sensors of M numbers(510-590). The parking sensor portion is formed by parking sensors(610-690).
