METHOD FOR SEARCHING LOCATION OF CELLULAR PHONE ON ROAD IN NAVIGATION SYSTEM USING CELLULAR PHONE

PURPOSE: A method for searching a location of a cellular phone on road in a navigation system using a cellular phone is provided to minimize a calculation error of an optimum route to a destination by searching correctly a present position of the cellular phone. CONSTITUTION: A traffic information center receives a history of location data from a cellular phone(400). The traffic information center searches a road matched with a map database on the basis of the history of location data(402). The traffic information center performs a route calculation process or confirms the presence of the searched road according to a decision for the present road on which the cellular phone is located(404-406). The searched road is decided as the present road if the searched road is one. A user's inquiry is transmitted to the cellular phone if a plurality of roads are searched(410). A range of road search is controlled if there is not the matched road(408). The traffic information center receives a user's response from the cellular phone(412). The traffic information center performs the route calculation process(414) and transmits route induction data to the cellular phone(416).
