PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exhibit excellent chipping resistance by high-speed heavy-cutting. SOLUTION: In this throw-away cutting tip made of surface coating tungsten carbide group cemented carbide, the laminated and coated layer changed in the thickness direction from a metallic Cr layer on substrate surface side to a CrN layer on surface side through a mixed layer of a Cr2 N phase and a CrN phase is physically vapor-deposited on a surface of a tungsten carbide group cemented carbide substrate with a total average layer thickness of 0.5 to 5μm, and the average layer thickness of each of the metallic Cr layer, mixed layer, and CrN layer is set as to be 0.05 to 0.3μm for the metallic Cr layer, 0.3 to 3μm for the mixed layer, and 0.1 to 2μm for the CrN layer.
