PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter unit which can be burned as it is without separating void holding members even when discarded and has high shock resistance and good handleability. SOLUTION: The filter unit uses a filter medium comprising pleated nonwoven fabric made of a resin and void holding members made of a synthetic resin are disposed in the voids between the pleats of the filter medium. A filter of this invention is provided with the filter unit.
