<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which prevents accumulation of an electric discharge product or the like and particularly prevents image flowing in a high humidity environment. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is characterized in that: the image carrier has a photosensitive layer and a surface layer on a conductive supporting body, wherein the surface layer contains at least a hardening resin (and a charge transport compound) and is hardened with at least one of heat, light and electron beams; the image carrier shows the HU (universal hardness) of ≥150 N/mm<SP>2</SP>and ≤220 N/mm<SP>2</SP>in a hardness test using a Vickers square-based pyramid diamond indenter in an environment of 20°C and 50% humidity under the maximum load of 6 mN and has the elastic deformation rate of ≥40% and ≤65%; the apparatus is equipped with a plurality of developing means containing developers of various colors; at least one of the plurality of developing means contains polisher particles in the developer; and the cleaning means has a rubbing member and a cleaning blade to rube the image carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
