<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode activator capable of improving battery characteristics even at a circumstance of high temperature, and a cathode and a battery using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The cathode 21 contains the cathode activator having average composition expressed by Li<SB>a+1</SB>Ni<SB>(1-b-c)</SB>Mn<SB>b</SB>M<SB>c</SB>O<SB>(2-x)</SB>F<SB>y</SB>, wherein, M denotes Co, Mg, Al, B, Ti, V, Cr, Fe, Cu, Zn, Mo, Sn, Ca, Sr, W, Nb, Y, or Zr; and a, b, c, x, and y fulfills -0.1≤a≤0.1, 0,005≤b≤0.4, 0≤c≤0.35, -0.1≤x≤0.2, 0≤y≤0.1 respectively. Excessive fluorine exists on the surface of the cathode activator particle comparing with that existing inside the particle. On x-ray absorption end fine structure spectrum, in a state that 80 mol% of lithium is released, intermediate point of absorbance at K-shell absorption end of nickel is sifted by 1.1 eV or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
