The invention relates to removing hydrocarbons from a gas-vapour medium, which is formed during oil storage or oil filling into a tank and injected into the atmosphere. The inventive cleaning method consists in supplying a liquid medium to a liquid-gas jet device by means of a pump, in evacuating a gas-vapour medium from a fillable container and/or storage tank by means of said pump, in compressing said gas-vapour medium in the liquid-gas jet device, in supplying the mixture formed in the liquid-gas jet device to a separator, in conveying a gaseous phase from the separator to an absorber containing an absorbent, which is embodied in the form of a hydrocarbon liquid supplied thereto and in removing the cleaned gaseous phase and liquid from the absorber. The liquid is directed form the absorber to a desorber, in which a pressure is maintained at a level lower than the atmospheric pressure. The inventive device comprises a pump, a liquid-gas jet device, a separator, an absorber, an additional liquid-gas jet device and a desorber. Said invention makes it possible to reduce oil losses and to increase a cleaning efficiency.
