CONSTITUTION:While that face of an ultrasonic hone 10 which makes contact with the edge of a thermoplastic splice tape 3A stuck to both the rear end of a web 3 ahead and the end of the next web 3' is titled within the range of 0.05 to 45 degrees to the surface of the splice tape 3A along the rear side edge portion of the splice tape 3A, ultrasonic vibration is applied to fuse the splice tape to each of the webs, thereby removing an uncontinuous stepped level formed between the rear side edge portion of the splice tape and each web. |
