<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device that has a lens structure having a thick lens section with a wide area, and to provide an electronic apparatus incorporating such an optical device. <P>SOLUTION: The lens structure 10 has a lens section 11 and a skirt section 12 extending from the edge 11t of the lens section 11. The skirt section 12 is extended so as to have two flat faces in a direction intersecting the optical axis of the lens section 11 from the edge 11t. The skirt section 12 has leg sections 13 at the peripheral edges. The lens structure 10 is formed by integrally injection molding a synthetic resin into the lens section and skirt section 11 and 12. The injection molding is conducted by injecting the synthetic resin from a molding gate FG to a molding gate receiving section 14. The molding gate receiving section 14 is disposed at the end of the skirt section 12 and is configured to facilitate injection molding.
