Polymeric anti-microbial agents produced by substituting the nitrogen atoms in the backbone of ethenimine polymers are provided. The agents are believed to have low human toxicity while being effective against a variety of pathogens and are useful in applications involving human contact, such as cosmetics, hair care products and textiles, as well as in applications with much less human contact, such as coatings. |
