<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external power unit with a burglary preventing function for a notebook computer, having the both functions of an AC adaptor for a notebook-sized PC and security wire. <P>SOLUTION: This external power unit is provided with: an AC/DC conversion part 12 for converting an AC power source extracted from a commercial socket into a DC power source; a DC jack/lock part 11 having the composite function of a DC jack for connecting and transmitting DC power to be supplied by the AC/DC conversion part to electronic equipment and a lock part to be restrained and locked with the casing of the electronic equipment; and a wire 16 whose one end is connected to the DC jack/lock part, and whose other end is restrained to a standstill object. This external power unit is provided with both the functions of the AC adaptor and the security wire, and the DC jack/lock part connected to the notebook computer is provided with a DC jack for power supply and the lock part of the security wire.
