PURPOSE:To obtain a braided body of expanded graphite having excellent heat resistance and durability by using rolled single yarn comprising a laminated tape prepared by laminating metal mesh and/or metal fiber through an ultra-thin thermally fused film to an expanded graphite film. CONSTITUTION:A laminated film is formed by laminating metal mesh and/or metal fiber comprising heat-resistant nickel alloy, aluminum, copper, nickel or chrominum, preferably annealed stainless steel wire having 1-3mm diameter and excellent flexibility as a base through an ultra-thin thermally fused film to an expanded graphite film. The laminated tape is wound from both the sides in a curling state to give rolled single yarn and made into continuous knitting yarn. Given knitted texture is made by using the knitting yarn to give braided body suitable as gland packing, gasket or insulating material, having excellent productivity and workability. |
