Described is a safety device best known as umbilical clamp, which includes 4 segments which all together form a clamp: Two elastic belts and two trapezoidal-shaped pieces having a higher consistency. The clamp is useful for compressing the blood vessels of the umbilical cord; a second bower anchor mechanism may be included as a safety device. Once the hermetic adjustment of the umbilical clamp is performed, the remaining portions of the belts are cut after being sealed, thereby being used as identification bracelets for the mother and the child. This prototype may have an alarm system for detecting the kidnapping of the newborn, which consists in a device located at the inner portion of the upper hexagonal-shaped piece and which is detected by any metal detector.
