The circuit for controlling output of an inverter controlled microwave oven (MWO) suppresses peak voltage applied to the switching devices of the inverter to generate stable output regardless of input voltage and load variation. The circuit includes a DC power supply (2) for supplying DC power to control units, a feedback circuit (3) for feeding the output high voltage to a control circuit and for detecting zero cross of input voltage, a variable resistor (VR2) connected to DC power supply to provide reference voltage to a pulse width modulation circuit (4), a pulse width modulation circuit (4) for switching a switching device (Q1), and a high voltage transformer (T1) for stepping up voltage to generate high voltage to a magnetron (1).
