<p>PURPOSE:To remain conditions before and after the occurrence of an accident as objective record, to use it as evidence when the vehicle accident occurs, to detect the presence or absence of abnormality as to the operation state of an image pickup device or a recording device and to issue an alarm when abnormality occurs in the operation state of the image pickup device or the recording device. CONSTITUTION:A scene outside the vehicle is image-picked up by a video camera 5 from within the vehicle 1 and an image pickup signal obtained from the video camera 5 is recorded by VTR 11. While the video camera 5 and VTR 11 are in the operation state, an abnormality detection circuit 91 detects the presence or absence of the operation state of the video camera 5 and VTR 11. When any abnormality is detected in the operation state of the video camera 5 or VTR 11, the alarm is issued by the flicker of a display lamp 90 in an alarm display part 88.</p> |
