PURPOSE:To provide a laser which is able to selectively oscillate laser rays of different frequencies. CONSTITUTION:A laser of this design is equipped with semiconductor lasers 1 and 2 which serve as excitation light sources, resonator mirrors 4 and 5 which reflect laser rays emitted from the semiconductor lasers 1 and 2, and a solid- state laser medium 2 provided between the lasers 1 and 2 and the mirrors 4 and 5, where the solid-state laser medium 2 contains various kinds of additive ions, the semiconductor lasers 1 and 2 are possessed of excitation frequencies correspondent to the additive ions, and the solid-state laser medium 3 is selectively excited by the laser rays of the semiconductor lasers 1 and 2, whereby laser rays of different frequencies are selectively oscillated. |
