The present invention relates to a motor driving device capable of estimating parameters by reflecting non-linearity of an inductor and a control method thereof. The motor driving device includes a motor which includes a rotor which includes a permanent magnet and a stator; an inverter which supplies driving power to the motor; and a control unit which estimates parameters through starting estimation if the rotation speed of the rotor is smaller than a predefined starting speed, compensates the dead time and estimates the parameters through driving estimation if the rotation speed of the rotor is equal to or greater than the predefined starting speed and the torque of the rotor is equal to or smaller than predefined driving torque, and estimates the parameters through the driving estimation without dead time compensation if the rotation speed of the rotor is equal to or greater than the predefined starting speed and the torque of the rotor is over the predefined driving torque.
