PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal printer capable of specifying a position of a backing material, in an ink sheet constitution of using the backing material transferred to recording paper.SOLUTION: A thermal printer comprises an ink sheet 7. In the ink sheet 7, dyes 7y, 7m and 7c being a color dye and a dye 7w being a material transferred to recording paper and also becoming a backing of the color dye, are coated side by side on the ink sheet 7. A position specifying part specifies a position of the dye 7w based on a detection state of a mark MK1a and a mark MK1s by sensors SN1 and 2 when carrying the ink sheet 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
