PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that since a molded layer formed in a powder layer sinks rather than a height of a region other than the molded layer, an irregular powder density is induced upon forming the next powder layer.SOLUTION: A powder supply amount W1 is defined as a powder amount supplied from a supply tank 21 to a molding tank 22; an overflow powder amount W3 is defined as an amount overflowing from the molding tank 22 to a powder receiving part 29 by a flattening (recoat) process; a powder filling theoretical amount W2calc is defined as a powder amount corresponding to a single layer of the powder layer; and a powder filling measurement amount W2actual is obtained by subtracting the overflow powder amount W3 from the supply powder amount W1. Under the conditions that the overflow powder amount W3 is smaller than a predetermined amount (W1-W2calc) and that the powder filling measurement amount W2actual is larger than the powder filling theoretical amount W2calc, the powder 20 is re-supplied to flatten the powder layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
