The system (1) has a motorized flap (13) that is adjustable between open and closed positions in a step by step manner. An electronic management unit (10) varies a position of the flap in a continuous manner according to outside temperature (Text) of a vehicle, interior temperature (Tint) of the vehicle and additional parameter of the vehicle. The management unit compares a value obtained using the additional parameter with a threshold value mapped based on values of the interior and outside temperatures. The additional parameter is chosen from a speed (V) of the vehicle, detected number of occupants in the vehicle, carbon dioxide level measured by a carbon dioxide level sensor (17) e.g. infrared sensor, in a passenger compartment of the vehicle, and a moisture content measured by a humidity sensor (18) e.g. resistive sensor. An independent claim is also included for a method for ventilating a passenger compartment of a car. |
