PURPOSE: To provide a light beam direction device used in a single opening laser transceiver system for generating deflection on two surfaces for transmission and reception beams, while maintaining identity for the polarized waves of respective channels. CONSTITUTION: The four pieces of one-dimensional beam deflection devices 10c, 10d, 10e and 10f are used for two orthogonally crossing linearly polarized wave of two transceiver channels by two for one for each direction axis. A 90 deg. polarization rotator and 1/4 wavelength plates 40 and 42 are provided in the beam deflection device for satisfying the polarization request of the devices and the transceiver channels. The beam deflection device is provided with a liquid crystal cell, functioning as a variable phase delay factor and the respective cells are provided with a first window 12, provided with a common electrode 10, a second window 14 provided with the plural electrically insulated electrodes 18 of a parallel striped form and a liquid crystal molecular layer 20 between the first and second windows. |
