A aromatic polyester polymer (intrinsic viscosity 1.5-2.5, melting point 260-320 deg.C) of formula (I) is prepared by mixing and copolymerizing telomer of formula (II), bisphenol derivative of formula (III) and terephthalic acid derivative of formula (IV) under the nitrogen atmosphere at 250-290 deg.C. In the formula, X is H, methyl, phenyl, Cl or Br; R and R' are H or acetyl; R" is OH, phenoxy or methoxy; A is -O-, -SO2- or -C(CH3)2-; k is integer of 1 to 200; 1 is integer 0 to 200 and k/(k+1) = 0.1-1.0, 1/(k+1) = 0- 0.9. The aromatic polyester has an exellent moldability and mechanical property.
