In the method according to the invention a medium frequency reference is formed in a system with two synthesizers by regulating the injection frequencies fTXi, fRXi in such a way that their difference fDs or their third harmonic falls within the medium frequency. This signal is received in the medium frequency circuits by parasitic connection and is measured for regulation of the frequency of the second local oscillator. The invention is used for the tuning of radio telephones. <IMAGE>
