<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adaptor device, along with its control method and a computer program, capable of distributing a video image taken with a DVD camcorder, which a client terminal on a network can access. <P>SOLUTION: A video image file recorded on a disc recording medium is obtained from an imaging apparatus. A first content information representing a list of acquired video image files is generated. Based on the generated first content information, a second content information of a format to be opened on the network is generated. Based on the first content information and the acquired video image file, a video image file of the format to be opened on the network is generated. The generated second content information is opened on the network.
