PURPOSE:To improve initial performance and the service life of an electrode for a phosphoric acid-type fuel cell. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst consisting of carbon black and platinum, etc., carried on the carbon black is immersed in an aqueous solution a small amount of phosphoric acid is added to and then PTFE is added and stirred and the obtained mixed solution is formed into an electrode on a carbon paper, which is treated for water-repellence, by a method such as filter transfer, etc., and sintered to give a phosphoric acid-containing electrode which can improve the utilizing efficiency of platinum, etc., have an effect to suck phosphoric acid as an electrolyte easily, and form an excellent three-layer interface. |
