PURPOSE:To provide an ink jet recording apparatus having an emission inferiority recovery means preventing the wasteful consumption of ink and capable of more effectively consuming the ink for the purpose of printing. CONSTITUTION:In the recovery operation in such a case that the emission inferiority of a liquid droplet is generated in an ink jet recording apparatus, the consumption amount of ink is determined by comparing the operation quantity of a paper feed means from the recovery operation of the previous time with the preset fixed operation quantity of the paper feed means and a carriage is moved by the moving quantity corresponding to the determined consumption amount of the ink to operate an emission inferiority recovery means. By this constitution, the wasteful consumption of the ink can be prevented and the ink can be effectively used for the purpose of printing. |
