[Also in Division A4] An identity, credit or address card, passport or driving licence is made of a synthetic plastic material, which may be transparent and the card is divided into a plurality of areas, which are disposed in four zones: an embossing zone in which the data is embossed, a writing or typing zone in which the date is typed or written in, a zone containing concealed information which cannot be visually read but may be scanned by electrical, magnetic or X-ray means and a zone which may bear a photograph or finger prints. The concealed information may be embossed on the card in coded form and the zone provided with magnetic or X-ray impermeable material. The identity card may be bonded to a further plastics sheet to define a pocket F1, Fig. 2 (not shown), of a wallet thus produced which may be folded about a median transverse axis. A still further plastics sheet may be bonded to the wallet to define further pockets F2, F3, which are separated by a welded seam passing along the transverse axis. The embossed zone may be used for printing of the embossed data therefrom, the backing sheets on the identity cards serving as mounting for the printing plate. |
