PURPOSE:To provide a collision-excitation-type electroluminescence element having high luminescent efficiency. CONSTITUTION:In an electroluminescence element formed by successively piling a transparent electrode 2, a luminescent layer 3, a current limiting layer 4 consisting of conductive fine powder fixed by binder resin, and a back plate 5 on a transparent insulating substrate 1, a multilayered film formed by laminating a layered body, consisting of laminating at least two-layer semiconductor thin films, repeatedly at least one cycle is placed in the interface between the luminescent layer and the current limiting layer and/or the interface between the luminescent layer and the transparent electrode and each semiconductor thin film has thickness of 0.5-1000nm and the difference in energy levels of the conductive bands and/or the difference in energy levels of the valence electron bands of the mutually adjacent semiconductor thin films are or is set to be >=0.1eV. |
