Press-boards are made by applying powdered artificial resin to at least one surface of one or more layers of fibrous material moistened with binding agents, and heat pressing. The resin is preferably thermosetting, e.g. melamine, urea-formaldehyde, or phenol-formaldehyde, and may be mixed with wood-flour, or a layer of wood-flour may be provided between the fibrous material and the resin powder. The resin powder layer may be dyed, and differently dyed resins may be mixed or applied consecutively. The fibrous material may be rough-pressed before the resin is applied. |
