PURPOSE: To provide a machine tool capable of machining covering a wider range and cutting of work piece for laser-beam machining. CONSTITUTION: A machine tool for laser-beam machining comprises a housing 15 mounted on a column 2 and a longitudinally movable guide tube fixed therein, and the rear end portion of the housing has a laser unit 20 mounted thereon. In order to enable metal cutting machining, a motor driven main spindle 25 is fixed in the housing 15. The spindle has a locking element 27 to fix a tool holder 28.
