In a rechargeable battery charging system having a forward biased semi-conductor diode connected across each cell to by-pass the charging current at a determined voltage, each diode is mounted on a separate heat sink which provides a sharper transition to the conductive state at a determined battery voltage. Each sink is thermally isolated from each cell. The arrangement is stated to prolong cell life. |
