PURPOSE:To make it possible to display running-locus marks for recognizing a running speed and a running state without impairing ease in observability of a background map by specifying the different running marks in response to the elapsed time from a specified collecting time point for reading to the next specified collecting time point. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 7 obtains the range of map data to be displayed based on coordinates on a display screen and computes running distance coordinates Q for indicating a running- distance mark on the display screen based on the longitude and latitude data Si in a ring buffer 16. When the coordinates Q are within the range of the map data and the elapsed-time data ti in the locus data are the parked-vehicle value, the color number of the running-locus mark is made to be a red color. When the data are not the parked-vehicle value, the data are compared with a specified value for judging the presence or absence of the running at a low speed or in traffic jam. When the data ti are higher than the specified value, the color number is made to be yellow. When the data ti are less than the specified value, the color number is made to be white. The running state is judged in this way. The point where the engine is stopped is specified as red, the running in traffic jam is specified as yellow and the normal running is specified as white. Therefore, only the locus data to be displayed together with the color number are selected and drawn on the display screen. |
