<p>PURPOSE: To achieve an accurate protection of an inverter circuit, by detecting not only the maximum current flowing through an inverter motor but also a peak current to control and stop the inverter motor when detected values surpass limit values. CONSTITUTION: An AC/DC conversion part 2 is linked to a commercial AC power source 1 and converts the DC converted to a 3-phase AC with an inverter 3 to be applied to a compressor 4. The inverter 3 comprises a transistor set, and a control signal is applied to the base of each of the transistors from a base drive part 5. The control signal is determined from a microprocessor 6 based on an outdoor temperature data, a current data and the like. In this case, a total current detecting part 7 is disposed between the commercial AC power source 1 and the conversion part 2 while a peak current detecting part 8 is provided between the conversion part 2 and the inverter 3. When the detected current values surpass respective limit values, an inverter motor for driving the compressor is stopped.</p> |
