In a pendulum mill workpiece guides 18 are positioned on the output side of a pair of oscillating work rolls 1, 2, each guide including one part 20 fixed to an oscillating, rollcarrying, arm, and a second part 19 pivotable relative to a fixed frame. The two parts of each guide are provided at their adjacent edges with interlocking fingers which are arranged to prevent a workpiece passing between the parts during oscillation of the arms. A disc roller 24, forming part of the upper guide, is driven by a belt 27 and may be provided with an overrunning clutch. In a modification, the guide parts 19 may be replaced by cylindrical rollers, in which case the parts 20 each have only two fingers which extend past the opposite ends of the rollers. |
