[Also in Division C2] Pharmaceutical compositions comprise a compound of the general formula (R 1 =H, C 1-4 alkyl, aralkyl or aryl optionally ring-substituted by halogen, C 1-3 alkyl or methoxy, R 2,3,4 =H or C 1-4 alkyl, R 5 =C 1-3 alkyl, or R 2+4, R 3+4 or R 4+6 , together with the adjacent nitrogen atom and any intervening carbon atoms = 5-7. membered saturated heterocyclic ring which may contain a further heteroatom and/or be substituted by one or more C 1-3 alkyl groups, Y=halogen, methyl or methoxy and n=0, 1 or 2) or an acid addition salt or quaternary ammonium derivative thereof in association with a carrier or excipient. They may contain further active ingredients, e.g. 2-(5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-1 -naphthylamino)-2- imidazoline hydrochloride. The primary active ingredients have psychotropic, sedative, histaminolytic anti-emetic, narcosis-potentiating, adrenolytic, anti-pyretic, hypothermic, spasmolytic, antiphlogistic, , anti-tussive, local anaesthetic and anti-cholinergic activity, and an antiserotonin action. They are also active against snake poisons. |
