A recording pill dispenser comprises a container 20 preferably of a transparent plastics, with at least one dispensing aperture 34, 36, a number of time indicating projections 62 around its periphery, a rotatable dispensing cap 66 with a discharge opening 70 and spring means 86 biasing the cap towards the container top to close the dispensing aperture or apertures therein, and at least one downwardly extending projection 68 received between the projections 62 so that when the cap is rotated relative to the container the projection 68 rides on to a projection 62 and the cap is lifted from the container top to permit a pill to be dispensed, further rotation of the cap closing the container as the projection 68 descends from the projection 62. A ratchet 78 allows rotation in one direction only. In modifications the dispenser is made child-proof by having looking parts, e.g. engaging bosses, a bolt, which are freed by movement of flexible container walls or portions, Figs. 15-19 (not shown). |
