1292126 Contacting liquids; mixing in conduits UNILEVER Ltd 16 Dec 1969 [17 Dec 1968] 61180/69 Headings B1C and B1F [Also in Division C2] An aspirator comprises three interconnected coaxial pipes 1, 3 and 4, each of generally uniform bore, with two Venturi pipes arranged in tandem and provided by upper and lower internal tubes inside pipe 3 which is also furnished with upper and lower side arms 7 and 8 providing induction manifolds for the two Venturi systems. The orifices 2 provides an inlet for the first Venturi and the tube 6 acts as a diffuser for the first Venturi and as the inlet for the second Venturi. Tube 14 constitutes, the second diffuser and this. leads into pipe 4 which is vented to atmosphere at 11 and acts as a pressure equalising vessel. Liquid entering the vessel passes through packed bed 10 and leaves via pipe 13. |
