<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost seal structure having excellent waterproofness and high yield, and a bearing unit using the same. <P>SOLUTION: This seal structure can be installed between an inner and an outer ring 4, 6 oppositely arranged in such a manner that the same can relatively rotate, and is provided with an annular slinger 10 fixed on one raceway ring (rotary ring) 4 and an annular seal main body 12 fixed on another raceway ring (stationary ring) 6. A seal main body is provided with a first stepped part P1 and a second stepped part P2 having predetermined height difference on at least a part of a surface opposing to the slinger. The first stepped part is set in a position relation not to get into contact with the slinger under a condition where the seal structure (pack seal 2) is installed between the raceway rings, and the second stepped part is set in a position relation with which at least a part thereof can be fitted in the slinger under a condition where the seal structure is not installed between the raceway rings. The slinger and the seal main body can be maintained in a stated that the same are mutually combined as one unit by fitting the slinger at the second stepped part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
