PURPOSE:To widen the selection range of an organic dye used for an optical recording layer by forming the optical recording layer on a light-transmitting substrate made of a specific polymer. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording layer containing an organic dye is formed on a light-transmitting substrate made of at least one polymer selected out of a group composed of a random copolymer of ethylene and cyclic olefin shown by a formula I and/or II((n), (x) are 0 or 1, (m) is 0 or a positive integer, (p) is 0 or an integer of 1 or more, (g), (r) are 0, 1, or 2, and R<1>-R<18> and R<a>, R<b> are atom or group selected out of hydrogen atom, hydrocarbon radical, and the like (but, in the formula II, R<1>-R<15> are hydrogen atom, alkoxy group, and the like)); a polymer or copolymer containing repeated unit shown by a formula III ((n), (m), R<1>-R<18>, and R<a>, R<b> are the same meaning as those in the formula I); and a polymer or copolymer containing repeated unit shown by a formula IV ((n),(m), R<1>-R<18>, and R<a>, R<b> are the same meaning as those in the formula I). |
