1278233 Polymer compositions FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 19 Jan 1970 [18 Jan 1969] 2483/70 Headings C3G and C3P Polymer compositions are formed by mixing polymer latices or graft polymerization followed by drying of (a) 60-98% of a homopolymer of vinyl chloride or a copolymer thereof with up to 10% of the polymer of a comonomer and (b) 2-40% of a different polymer formed from 25-95% of vinyl chloride and 75-5% of a monomer of the formula X-CH=CH-Z where X and Z are -COOR or X is H and Z is -OCOR<SP>1</SP>, R is C 1 -C 20 alkyl or cycloalkyl and R<SP>1</SP> is C 1 -C 20 alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl. Graft polymers are formed by partially polymerizing (a), adding a latex of (b) and completing polymerization of (a). In examples the comonomer of (b) is dibutyl or dihexyl maleate, dibutyl fumarate, vinyl isobutyrate or benzoate or 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl valerate. To the compositions are added montan wax, diphenylthiourea and titanium dioxide. |
