1287583 Weft thread supply BRITISH VISQUEEN Ltd 6 Jan 1970 [16 Jan 1969] 2665/69 Heading D1E The speed of rotation of a driven weft thread package 1 is varied, to maintain a reserve 2 of weft thread for a gripper loom, in response to the length of thread of the reserve 2. The package 1 is driven by a motor 10 through a belt 9 which passes over opposed cones 7, 8 and is movable with a block 12 engaging a threaded shaft 11. The shaft is rotated to move the block 12 through a one-way clutch 6 actuated by an arm 5 carrying a loop 4 through which the thread passes. The thread may be a plastics tape. |
