The invention comprises compounds of Formula I, in which R 2 is hydrogen or acetyl and R 3 is hydrogen, methyl or methoxy; their preparation by reacting a compound of Formula II with an excess of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salt of a compound of Formula III in solution or suspension in an inert organic solvent; and a process for the preparation of compounds of Formula IV and their metal salts by reacting a compound of Formula I with an alkali metal alkanolate having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, in an organic solvent, and, if desired, splitting off an acetyl radical by hydrolytic means and/or salifying the product. The compounds of Formula IV are bactericides. |
