1304394 Rotary pumps and motors A HUPE 13 April 1970 [29 April 1969] 17479/70 Heading F1F A rotary compressor comprises a pair of rotors 1, 2 rotatable about parallel axes in a housing defining chambers 5, 6, each rotor having a tooth 10 and tooth space 13, and inlets 8 and outlets 9 in the housing end walls, the rotors 1, 2 and housing combining to form, during rotation, a first working space 16', a second working space 16 being formed between the tooth 10 and tooth space 13, the volume of the space 16 reducing to zero, whilst communication is maintained with the outlets 9. In another embodiment, Fig.5, (not shown), a pair of rotors having two teeth and two tooth spaces are used, whilst in the embodiments of Figs.6 and 7, (not shown), non-identical rotors are employed, the former embodiment having a radial inlet port. A rotary slide valve, Fig.8, (not shown), may be mounted to rotate about the axis of rotor 1 to adjust the position of the trailing edge of outlet 9 to vary the end of compression and the beginning of outflow. |
